Health Benefits of Raw Honey

Raw Honey is Antiseptic, Antibiotic, Antifungal, Antibacterial, and it Never Spoils!

Raw honey is a powerful immune system booster. Raw honey contains 27 minerals, 22 amino acids and 5,000 live enzymes. It keeps you healthy by fighting disease and boosting the digestive system. One daily spoonful in your tea or spread on your toast is all that is needed to reap these benefits.

Raw Honey can be Beneficial when Trying to Lose Weight

Unlike refined sugar, honey contains vitamins and minerals. Honey helps metabolize cholesterol and fatty acid, preventing obesity. Try making a drink by adding honey and lemon to a glass of water.

Raw Honey as a Beauty Aid

Raw honey can be used as a moisturizer, facial mask, hair conditioner, and cleanser. It has natural humectants with the ability to replenish the moisture level in skin without adding oil.

As a moisturizing facial mask:

To exfoliate, clarify, and unclog pores, smooth a small amount of raw honey lightly over the skin; relax and leave on for 30 minutes. Remove with warm water. Leaves skin baby soft.

As a dry hair treatment:

After shampooing, smooth raw honey evenly on hair. Rinse well. Or, apply to wet or dry hair 30 minutes before shampooing. Shampoo as usual. Hair will be soft and full of shine.

As an antibacterial cleanser:

Wash with a small amount of raw honey to help clear facial blemishes and acne.

Raw Honey can Help Treat Cuts and Wounds

Use the antiseptic properties of raw honey to clean wounds and help inhibit bacterial growth. Its natural antibiotic and antibacterial properties aid in treating cuts and burns. It may help promote healing, reduce swelling and help prevent infections. Apply a small amount of raw honey lightly over the affected area; may cover with a dressing or a dusting of cornstarch to reduce any stickiness.

Raw Honey as a Dental Aid

Apply raw honey to canker sores, fever blisters, and irritations on gums and mouth.

Raw Honey as an Aid in Digestion

Raw honey does not ferment in the stomach and is easily absorbed. The flavor excites the appetite and may help with digestion. It also has a lubricating effect that may help with constipation.

Raw Honey for Arthritis

Add one tablespoon raw honey and one tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar, such as Bragg’s, to a cup of warm water. Drinking one to three times per day may help with arthritis pain.

Why This Blog?

TPN

We started this blog to supplement our family business so I guess I should back up and talk about why we started our business!

I've had various skin problems including eczema, Rosacea, sensitive skin, and a number of supposedly unexplainable rashes. I saw different dermatologists, and it became clear that they really didn't know what to do with my skin. They prescribed every imaginable prepared cream and ointment, and then went on to prescribe compounded creams. Nothing worked.

In the past several years, I've had other health problems, such as osteoarthritis, lymphedema, candida, and pituitary problems, that became severe enough that Nick left his career of 21 years as an IT Director to come home and take care of me and our children. He wanted to find work that he could do from home, and, at the same time, I was searching for answers to my health issues.

Most of the experiences I've had with orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, pain management doctors, and other physicians have been similar to the experiences I had with dermatologists. I was given steroid injections, epidural injections, physical therapy, and a huge number of prescription medications that left me unchanged or, more often, suffering with new side effects.

So, I quit. I'm working on getting healthy my way, by changing what I put in my mouth and what I put on my body. I'm finished with toxins; I'm finding ways to nourish my body, both inside and out.

Two of our children have eczema, and we started making our own body butters and salves for them.  Friends asked if we'd make some for their children, and we decided we wanted to share things that worked for us.

We adopted all of our children, and they're African American.  In addition to the body butters and salves, we found that coconut oil helped keep their skin nourished, hydrated, smooth, and beautiful.

We also love the raw honey we use and eat, and wanted to share that with others.  We started eating it in hopes of helping our children with their seasonal allergies.  We grew to love it so much that Nick started making his own raw creamed honey which he flavors with different organic flavors.

So we're starting our little family-run business and we're starting this blog. Nick does all of the work on the business end, with a little input here and there from me. :) My current personal goal is to work on getting myself healthy and getting my family healthy. One way to do that is by using products on our skin that support good health, rather than hinder it.

I know many people who eat really well...but don't give a second thought to the chemicals that they slather on their bodies. They use products by manufacturers that have spent big bucks on advertising to make us believe that their products will make us look and feel younger, or happier, or more beautiful, or more assured; they will target whatever their studies show our weaknesses are. Uninformed consumers buy into this and spend small fortunes on these products that are made with petrochemicals, fragrances that have been proven to be carcinogenic, parabens and other chemical preservatives. The skin is our body's largest organ and these products, with their carcinogens, plasticizers, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxins, and pesticides, are designed to penetrate it, and many of them have been found in people's tissue, fat, and urine. The laws regarding what can be added to personal care products are weak, and the ingredients are not safety tested. The result is a lot of products in appealing packages, created to make the manufacturers rich, rather than to benefit our skin. In addition, many of these products are tested on innocent animals, and they are harming the earth and the wildlife as more and more chemicals end up in our air and in our rivers and streams.

We want to find and share products that promote good health, and are free of harmful ingredients. We're always open to hearing about new products and we welcome feedback. We'd love to have have anyone who's interested join us on this journey to good health!

Welcome!

Welcome to Truly Pure & Natural

We are a family owned and operated small Christian business. My wife, Denise and I have adopted four beautiful African American children over the last 12 years, all as infants. We are Caucasian, and wanted to learn to care for our children’s hair and skin with the best natural products we could find. We shopped around and were surprised at the lack of truly natural hair and skin care products out there. We found many companies that claimed to offer natural products but were actually selling products full of chemicals and preservatives, with a few herbs or essential oils thrown in, presumably to make them appear natural or healthy.

We finally found some great products that not only worked for our children, but worked for us as well. Best of all, they're free from preservatives and other harmful chemicals. We liked them so much that we wanted to share them with others who may be searching for similar products.

We have dealt with chemical sensitivities, allergies, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions, and the skin care products we sell are products that have helped us tremendously.

After finding skin and hair care products, we searched for and found natural cosmetics that Denise, who has sensitive skin, Rosacea, and chemical sensitivities, was able to use. Like the body care products, the cosmetics are free from parabens, colors and fragrances, and are not tested on animals. We sell only brands that we believe in and have used ourselves.

A friend asked, “Why not sell other natural items?” So we decided to offer other products, such as locally roasted organic coffee, local raw honey, and hand crafted artisan soaps. We will also be selling our own brand lip balm, body butter, and salve. If you have a suggestion for a truly pure and natural product you would like us to carry, please let us know!

Our Mission:

* Provide excellent Customer Service

* Offer only truly pure and natural products at very affordable prices

* Provide an easy and secure shopping experience
